Best Practices in study abroad programs for STEM students

 

This paper examines the rationale for developing international internship programs in order to increase the representation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students in education abroad. Analysis of existing program models is used to classify different types of internship programs, identify best practices in program design for STEM students, and suggest the factors that senior international officers and other university administrators should consider when determining which model to adopt.

Financial Analysis and Plan of action for Guatemalan NGO

 

This report contains a throuough analysis of the financial accounts of the NGO Transitions in Guatemala, which provides wheelchairs, prothestics, and educational training to the disabled and victim of gang violence. The report was commissioned by the NGO in order to improve their financial stability. My work on the report included an analysis of Transitions' statement of activities, cash flow, and projected revenue. The report concludes with recommendations for keeping this vital service functional in the face of the loss of several key revenue streams. 

Analysis of Rwanda's Education Sector  

 

This site contains a collection of reports that I developed on the status of Rwanda's Education system for the International Comparative Education course at MIIS, and includes the following narrated presentations:

F-1 Visa OPT/CPT Advising 

 

This presentation serves as a tool for advisors to present Career Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT) information to international students in an entertaining and engaging manner. The presentation is designed to be given to  international students holding F-1 Visas during their initial orientation, and provides guidance on work regulations which will help them to maintain legal status for the duration of their academic careers and immediately after graduation.
